Top 5 Takeaways...

Lets pay a tribute to the places which make Bury Park what it is. We've all been in that situation, gone home after school or work or whatever, greeted by the smell of Dhaal! It is these establishments which come to our rescue at such depserate moments. Yes, the moment is here. I will name my top 5 takeaways which will fill you up for less then a fiver.

5. Halal Fried Chicken

Been around since before me probably, this small shop is the epitome of the Bury Park takeaways. It has all the basics you could want, and everything ive had from here is of a decent standard.

4. Spicy Chicken

This fairly new joint is very tasty indeed. Again, like Halal Fried it has all the basics covered but excels in its spicy donner which is innovative, and I personally love their baby chicken.

3. Dial-A-Kebab (aka 'Diala')

This shop is a legend! We used to go to town regularly during school days, and a visit to Diala on our way back was a must. Still the number one for me in the kebab catergory. The chilli sauce ad the garlic mayo absolutely untouchable.

2. Peri-Peri

A new concept and I love it. Well, its new in luton anyway. It doesn't taste that much greater then the traditional southern fried chicken from the other shops, but its a grilled healthier option (apparently). Also the chicken breast in pitta is probably the best burger ive had. In its mild form that is (you can get it hot which I dont like).

1. Cafe-1

Remember the good old cheese flans and chocolate tarts from school. Well its all available once again thanks to the brilliant Cafe one! Lovely food and a great alternative to the unhealthier options.

Thats it people, a fiver is more than enough to get you a fully blown meal at any of these places.

The Purpose...

The purpose of this blog is erm...im not entirely sure. I guess its just the random ramblings of a person who has grown up in Bury Park, Luton. I want to share my views on important issues effecting the community such as the sudden rise in the price of food from Shahi Nan Kebab (kebab roll now £3!) and the rise in price for a game of snooker at K&N (50p to £1!). On a serious note I hope this blog brings about some benefit to all who take from it.
